Saying Good Bye To Maleah 'Smoochie Poochie'

It was a sad day on Monday, October 30th that we had to say good bye to Maleah, affectionately known as “Smoochie Poochie” our Pro-Shop dog for the season.

In September, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour that affected her vision. Medication relieved the symptoms until her condition deteriorated rapidly over a couple of days and she succumbed to her illness on the morning of Monday, October 30th.

Over the summer she was a fixture in the shop enjoying her three favourite things; being at Osprey, getting a scratch or pat from absolutely everyone who came through the shop, and hot dogs. But with all of her affection for everyone, she hated geese and groundhogs and derived much pleasure chasing both. Win for us.

We thank Dr. Palangio and the staff at Blue Sky Animal Hospital for the great care and compassion given Maleah during her illness and to the Members and guests of Osprey who enjoyed her company as we did and were sure to give her a pat or scratch at every opportunity and to Jackie Kirk, who let us pretend she was ours!
